New Pokemon Snap was made for me

Growing up, we didn’t have a N64. Our friends up the street did, and we played a lot of Pokemon Stadium together.

Now as an adult, years later, my adult friends reminisced about the fun times had playing Pokemon Snap for the N64 and were excited for New Pokemon Snap.

I was hesitant at first. I didn’t know the appeal. I didn’t even know much about the premise of the game beyond it had Pokemon and you took pictures riding around in a cart.

Well, one of my good friends got me a copy of New Pokemon Snap for my birthday this year.

When I first started playing I was bored. But, then like a flash of Pokemon being captured in a Pokeball, I got it. And, now I am hooked.

With almost the equivalent of a work week spent taking photos, shooting apples, blasting things with orbs, and playing that jingle that won’t get out of my head, I get it.

New Pokemon Snap is a simple game, with a simple premise, and a simple goal–have fun.

As an adult player who is new to Snap, the best way I can describe the game’s addictive gameplay is an interactive, slightly every changing version of a I Spy or Where’s Waldo book.

While you may travel through the same path each time, there is always something a little different or something you missed the first travel around in your little cart. As the levels for each path progress even more changes are apparent.

The drive to gotta snap them all and knowing you haven’t yet makes this simple, fun game a challenge. For someone who missed out on the first game, I am so glad that I got a chance to play this one.
